This beautifully crafted wheat sheaf, traditionally made from the final stalks of the harvest, symbolizes prosperity, family unity, and the enduring connection between generations.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about the history and meaning behind the didukh, a decoration that often includes wheat, oats, flax, and rye. According to folklore, Saint Joseph once used a sheaf to seal a crack in the stable where Jesus was born, bringing comfort and protection — a gesture Ukrainians continue to honor by placing the didukh in their homes as soon as the first Christmas star appears.
