Ukraine Aid receives support from Maria Burmaka during her Downing street anti-war concert appeal

[metaslider id=180]

A Ukrainian singer Maria Burmaka, who is also an academic at Kiev National University and a pro-democracy activist, performed at the anti-war flash-concert in Dawning street on 24th February 2015 appealing to the UK government to facilitate an end to the on-going armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

According to the latest UN figures, half a million Ukrainians live in underground shelters in war-torn areas of Donbas to avoid artillery shelling. Thousands of civilians were killed as a result of the armed confrontation.

It is hoped that Maria Burmaka’s vehement appeal for help was heard by PM David Cameron who resides at number 10 Downing Street.

“Mr Prime Minister, if you cannot hear the explosions in Ukraine, please listen to our songs and act now!” – appealed the participants of the musical manifestation holding the Ukrainian flags.

By taking part in peaceful manifestations, Ukraine Aid activists hope to raise the awareness among the British citizens about the humanitarian disaster, which is currently unfolding in Ukraine at a speed of an avalanche. Ukraine Aid hopes to encourage the UK government for an urgent action!
